Glee - Halo/Walking on Sunshine |
] |
So my lovely flist, how are we all doing today?
oo1: Been watching Glee obsessively, and am in giant amounts of love with Sue. Her journal scene from last week's episode cracked me up so bad. Tell me I'm not the only one here?
oo2: Saw (500) Days of Summer last week and Mao's Last Dancer this week. Won't really talk about them because I think that everybody should have seen them by now. But, man oh man, the dancing in Mao's Last Dancer was brilliant. Words can't describe it. Also, the dance movie nerd in me loved seeing Amanda Schull (the blonde girl from Centre Stage - one of my ~favourite~ movies, negl), even if she wasn't dancing much. Just... wow at the dancing :|||
oo3: I've started this new eating plan at the behest of my mum, which involves not much other than cutting back on complex carbs* after 2pm. So far it's been pretty good, and I've been feeling a lot... lighter than I used to. Not in the weight sense, but in the way your stomach feels after a meal. Have more energy too, which is pretty fantabulous, if you ask me XD;;
* i.e. meals that are majority carbohydrates, like pasta or rice meals
oo4: Can Canberra weather please make up its mind? It's October, it's supposed to be warm and not raining? Definitely not impressed, I thought I could put away my coats and boots :(((

| hey look, it's a Liz! |
[25 Sep 2009|09:00pm] |
So ummm... I may have forgotten I had an LJ XD;;
Lots of things have happened: graduation, jobs, and my discovery of NCIS. *may or may not have a giant silver fox crush on Mark Harmon*
I assume I've missed lots of things, but my inherent laziness stops me from trawling through my flist to find everything. If anyone feels like I absolutely have to know something, let me know either here or send an email my way. Yes, I am that lazy (i.e. I just don't have the time).
Today marks the one year anniversary of my return from Japan. One year ago today, I jumped on a plane to Sydney, marking the end of my exchange. I can't believe it's been one year already :|

[11 Jun 2009|08:32pm] |
so i've been sick with a cold for the past 2 weeks or so, and i'm finally almost better. i go to work today (at Myer haha) with my dry cough and my water, and i serve this lady. i cough suddenly in front of her - covering my mouth and everything - and she gets really freaked out.
Me: *coughs* Her: *starts backing away* are you sick? Me: ... i have been, but im better now. Her: when you cough, you should face away from everybody Me: ... I see. I'll do that. Her: you do know that swine flu is going around now? Me: yes, i do.
did she just tell me i had swine flu?! uh...

| It's Eurovision time! |
[17 May 2009|08:07pm] |
Anybody else missing Terry Wogan's expert commentary on Eurovision? As much as I love Julia Zemiro and that other dude (Sam Pang?), they don't have the same level of snark that I usually expect from my Eurovision :((
WTH did Dima Bilan do to himself?! Last time I saw him, he was all hot and my Russian Se7en and now he's... Zac Efron, only blonder and not as ghei. I miss him looking like:
Oh man, I still listen to this song. FLESH OF MY FLESH, BONE OF MY BONE. You know those are some quality lyrics XDDDDDDDDDD
Also, numbers of slow songs this year disappoints me. WHERE ARE MY TACKY SEQUINS AND GLITTER POP SONGS? EUROVISION SHOULD BE FULLY OF SHINY THINGS, NOT ~MEANINGFUL~
EDIT
GREECE, I COULD COUNT ON YOU TO BRING THE POP BACK. Extra points for wearing all-white and rocking the boat look with the unbuttoned shirt. And the fake tan ^_~
EDIT
WTF THE NORWEGIAN HOBBIT MAN PLAYING THE VIOLIN WON AKJDHALKGJFHALDJKFG. and i still can't get over how horrible Dima looks now :((((((

| time for another monthly update! (or what feels like a month haha) |
[13 May 2009|11:22pm] |
oo1: THIS close to graduating but man oh man, have i lost my motivation. BIG TIME. it's almost scary how much work i'm not doing at the moment and how much i should probably do to keep up with my ONE CLASS. yes, you heard that right, one class. which is Japanese... :|
oo2: It's you, anybody? apart from Butt's hilarious acting (or lack thereof), i really like it! Hyukkie's channeling his inner Woohyuk (who is always approved of!) and Kyu, my feelings can only be summed up with this XD

oo3: Went to Sydney last weekend for this karaoke trip. I won't discuss much here (unless you want me to XD) but can A-san please-oh-please stop being such a drama queen and learn when to relinquish control? i'm usually pretty chill about people's quirks and idiosyncracies but even i'm having trouble biting my tongue and holding back from really saying what people think of him. personal semi-dislike aside, i mean
oo4: finally it's cold! it's only, what, may? who else remembers winter coming much earlier?
oo5: if i could have any power in the world, other than my awesome power to have a THEME SONG GUY - which i've always wanted - it'd be the ability to use gifs in real life. how cool would it be?!
it'd mean i could do things like this!

or this!

and with that, i'm going to bed. good night, everybody! :3

[29 Mar 2009|10:06pm] |
sooo... apparently it's been a month since my last entry. wut wut up the butt?
hmmm, what have i been doing with my time? other than being awesome, i mean :P i'll do an entry dot point-style
oo1: my one class this semester, Advanced Japanese, is pretty awesome. it's a pretty big class (like 15 people :| ) and we're all on a similar wavelength. the one really interesting thing is that there's such a difference between those who have lived in japan and those who have only studied the language. which i sort of expected when i got back but it's still a semi-shock when you actually experience it. the stuff we're learning is sort of typical, japanese society, history, etc, etc
oo2: BOF. nearly the end of the series, and my thoughts on the show range from 'oooh Kim Bum and Prince Song' to 'akjsdghalh Hyun Joong can't act AT ALL' and 'wtf Jandi's not this much of a wallflower, kick some ass!' my favourite's still the Japanese version for various reasons.
- One, the chemistry between Mao and Matsuface was off the charts. - Two, they didn't introduce semi-superfluous-but-interesting characters like Rui/Jihoo's grandfather or some other girl i've heard about but haven't met yet. - Three, Tsukushi's family didn't make me want to bash my computer screen in frustration. really, a family should do more than push your daughter into a relationship with not one BUT TWO rich boys and then get angry when she gets annoyed at them - Four, Domyouji's mum was much more badass (and less plastic-face too)
having said that, i do like how they stuck to the manga more. and SoEul makes me happy. they develop that relationship much more in the korean version and that makes me EXTREMELY HAPPY (Sojirou/Yuuki were always my favourite couple and i was really sad when they didn't end up together) --> \(^o^)/
oo3: mmm, lemon tea~ It reminds me of my Ode to Lemon Tea i wrote while bored at work one day. which i won't repeat here 'cause it's extra embarrassing XD;;
oo4: applying for real jobs these days. i'm sort of fluctuating between freaking out and being chill about finding one. my biggest worry is that i won't get anything :((
oo5: my new ipod is sort of broken. last week, my water bottle accidentally broke open in my bag, drenching everything in it. i managed to save most things, including my e-dictionary, and diary. my copy of "One Litre of Tears" is ruined (next time i'm in Sydney, i need to go to Kino and get a new one) and so is my ipod ;___;
oo6: people who use BB Cream! is it good? if so, what type do you have? i asked my sister to get me some so i want to compare and see which is best XDD
|
|
| LUMP ON MY BUTT WTFFFF |
[23 Feb 2009|09:10am] |
oo1: so it appears i've been BITTEN BY A SPIDER HIDING IN MY PANTS. inorite, i said the same thing when it happened too. it was clearly a dying instinct sort of thing for the spider but still. WTF A SPIDER BIT ME ON MY BUTT A:KGJLSKGSLKDHG. so now i have a big lump on my butt and a mushed spider in my bin XD;;
oo2: my one day of uni this semester is making me become a hermit. so i'm making myself go out by dropping my sister off at CIT then taking the car for the day. Mission: Don't become hermit seems to be working haha XDDDD
oo3: my internet's being really pissy right now. my wireless only starts working on saturday night and never at any other times. any Transact people got any suggestions for how i can get it to work? and yes, i have done everything i can to fix it myself, it's just not working :(((
oo4: oooh, time to go take my sister to school! how exciting ^_^;;
|
|
|
[12 Feb 2009|12:06pm] |
so i'm sure everybody's heard about the bushfires in Victoria, yeah? i know you're already donating, but just in case. DONATE DONATE DONATE. i can't stress this enough. blood, food, money, clothes, anything. i keep almost crying whenever i turn the tv on, and it takes a lot to make me cry :((((
on another note, the 20 degree temp drop in 4 days? that's when you know it's the end of summer in canberra and you can start pulling out the cute winter clothes again. and that my favourite time of year is coming soon! autumn/fall and leaves changing time XDDDDDDDDD
finally watched my DVD of the DBSGhei 3rd concert in Japan (the concert i went to). i'd forgot how stupid some of the costumes were and just how good live they are. i will always fangirl over Rising Sun live (it's still my favourite DBSGhei song) even if Mickers' fail!rap makes me laugh. *~NOW I CRY UNDER MY SKIN~*
oooh, almost time to drive mum to work! have to keep drying my hair (speaking of, any ideas for a hair cut? i'm getting a cut next week and i don't like going in not knowing what i want - except in japan, cause the hairdressers know their stuff)

| Gong xi fa cai! |
[03 Feb 2009|02:04pm] |
Happy Chinese New Year! yes, i do know i'm about a week late but shhh, i was in m'sia XD;;
i keep managing to not update for 1029429348 months. no, i have not died, my laptop has not been eaten by cannibals. i just keep forgetting to update and work means i get not much free time :(((
to keep this short and readable, it's Dot Points Time!
oo1: Canberra needs to get cold. or rain. anything to make it not 38 degrees and NOT HUMID AT ALL. humid heat i can handle but when it's dry heat, that's when i get cranky >.<
oo2: Chinese New Year, and by extension Malaysia, was fantastic. except for the part where we had 13409283 family dinners with exactly the same menu course; that wasn't as fun. but my grandma taught my sisters how to say, "Happy Chinese New Year! Can I have the money now?" which i'm told isn't necessarily the politest thing to say to somebody. lion dances, colourful yee sang (a CNY custom that apparently originated in KL by the Malaysian Chinese, for those who don't know) and red envelopes. all fun! XDDD
oo2: speaking of fun (or funny), bargaining while shopping. and creepy Indian guys coming up to my sister to say 'I love you' always make me laugh. not because that kind of thing is funny but because my sister now has the imitation down pat haha~!
oo3: i'm scared of weighing myself now. not because i'm a giant heffer who needs to wear muumuu's all the time (i'm clearly not) but because i distinctly remember saying this while at a restaurant. we'd just finished eating and i blurted out, "so what's for dinner?" fat man trapped in a girl's body =_=;; thank god for babydoll shirts and dresses, greatest thing ever!
oo4: mmmm leftover candy canes. what a great foodsnack. shh, i do know it's february and i'm about 3 months too late
oo5: can it be winter time now? i miss cute winter clothes. stockings and boots. BOOTS!
oo6: still obsessed with Gee by SNSD. and this:
actual choreography! anybody else really looking forward to when SNSD ditch the cute concept for good? oh, and Hyoyeon! too good...
|
|
| GEE GEE GEE GEE GEEEEEEE~ |
[06 Jan 2009|01:20pm] |
|
oo1: been listening to SNSD's new song Gee on repeat. and i really like it; clearly i have no kpop cred. no wait, i never had any (if indeed kpop is capable of having cred haha)! apparently Minho/Shinee's small-headed alien is going to be in the MV too XDDDDDDD
oo2: so very hot now. now this is summer in australia as i remember it! if it were more humid, it'd be the same as tokyo but after going through a summer there, i have no desire to sweat as much ever again XD;;
oo3: trying to download 夢かなえたろうか? just so i can see fangirls dance with DBSGhei. still in love with the part where Mickers, Jaejoong and Changers cross their arms simultaneously without realising it haha~
oo4: watching HQ perfs of Shinee on youtube makes you realise things. like, tight shiny pants should never be on boys like Taemin or Minho. for some reason, just those two make me feel like Pedobear's coming after me. the other three? not so much. let's see if someone can explain that
oo5: Canberra people, feel like coming to karaoke with me? there's the new place in Dickson/Chinastreet that i want to check out *hopeful*
oo6: GEE GEE GEE GEE GEEEEEEEEEE~

| Merry Christmas! |
[25 Dec 2008|11:45pm] |
Merry Christmas everybody!!!
i hope your day was well spent with family and/or friends and that Santa was extra kind to you haha
to everybody overseas or not in Canberra, i hope that we can meet someday, whether for the first time or again <333333
i got an email from Toda-sensei (one of my teachers at Gakugei - who taught education practices and got us to introduce our countries and play kiddies games [and whose class i also met Hiro in haha] XDDD) wishing me a merry christmas and telling me she told my 'story' to teachers at a conference who loved that i gave people Vegemite sandwiches. it moved me so much that she went out of her way to send me an email d'awwww i'm a big softie
got Dark Knight on dvd from my sister so we watched it today. i felt like the last person in the world to have seen Heathus Christ (why can i now never call him his real name?) and now i feel a little more complete XD;;

Daishi Dance - Snow Dayz |
] |
man, i've been so very lazy/busy lately. work, work and more work :///
oo1: still can't get over DBSGhei being censored by the Korean government.
crystal=sperm? red ocean=periods?
clearly someone overthought that one. but wait, it gets better! SM's suing the government now akgjfdhalfghj why is my fandom so full of fail?
oo2: apparently it's BigEast vs foreign fans (meaning every country but Korea) now. foreign fans have been bombarding Kouhaku polls (meant to gauge opinions in Japan) and now their stats are all skewed. but foreign fans are all butthurt cause they don't have a place to show their support for DBSGhei and wahhhhh fandom is srs brz since 2008 XD;;
oo3: stumbled across bsbsecrets last night. oh man, old school backstreet boys fans crack me up with their crazy. still not as awesome as jonas_secrets which is so very lulzy and reminds me of a certain fandom starting with D and ending with Ghei haha
so tell me what you've been up to, everybody?
EDIT
it occurs to me that i should update my mixi to say that i'm no longer in tokyo. i got a message from this サークル at some tankidai about a new years party and asking me to a) go, and b) answer questions about what he should wear/what i think guys should wear. wtf indeed ://
add this to the businessman who messaged me saying that we should meet up because he lives in 国分寺 (where my uni is) and it all gets slightly creepy...

Lee Hyori - U-Go-Girl |
] |
oo1: finally got my wireless working! no words can describe how happy relieved i was when i got it working. plus i made friends with the guys in the Mac store cause we could both speak japanese haha XD;;
oo2: NEWs' new album? pretty good, but dear god, Yamapi's solo song is the lulziest thing i've heard in a while. i bet he got Jin to check the english too :|||
oo3: been working pretty much every day, hence me not updating at all. for all the time i've been not working in retail, it only took a couple of days for it to come back to me. yay!
oo4: MKMF aftermath. Shinee winning and bawling their eyes made me want to hug them more. and then Big Bang/Wonder Girls/insert other artist made Cass angry by beating DBSGhei. oh the wankery that proceeded on devil comm, how i've missed you. Hyori really is the hottest thing to come out of Korea since, well, something really hot. even if she should have changed her shoes for dancing, girl looked like she was tottering on them >.<
oo5: that time of the year has come, a time when i need to get my hair cut so desperately. this begs the questions, how should i get it cut? oh the possibilities...
|
|
|
[31 Oct 2008|10:33pm] |
sooooo... long time no see? not much has been happening since i got back to ol' Canberra, so there's not really much to update XD;;
oo1: Shinee's new song, Amigo. Um... i haven't been overly impressed with it, but not entirely :| about it either. idk, it's a bit all over the place and it's the first time i've seen 'cold eyes baby', 'amigo' and 'slave' in one song. i'll forgive them cause they're all young and cute and all that. plus Onew and Minho have the best smiles i've seen in a while haha XDDDDD
oo2: Seeing my friends pictures on Facebook makes me miss my dorm in Tokyo. i miss the hall that smelled like years old alcohol combined with the smell of feet. i love my little room that always ended up covered in my hair (i lose double the 'normal' amount of hair in a day - it's normal for me but not for anybody else). i miss Crazy Lady who would wander the halls early in the morning asking us if we knew how to use chopsticks, then totter off to her office to talk to the TV. i even miss the mould. sigh, oh Tokyo, how i miss your trains =___=
oo3: Been having job interviews this week. Espirit yesterday then Borders next week. please oh please let me get a job, i hate not having money *crosses fingers*
oo4: i've started keeping a diary in japanese so that i don't forget everything i've learned. i'm using my sakubun book i bought for my classes that gives me topics and grammar lessons, etc. i can already feel myself forgetting kanji and getting slower when i talk to the japanese kids at uni, and i don't like that :/
oo5: oooh, movie time!
|
|
|
[12 Oct 2008|12:15pm] |
quick update due to my crappy internet :((((
oo1: so yeah, back in good ol' Canberra. to find that my entire family has been hit by the Tea Bug. makes readjusting back to australia easier if i get to drink green tea every day haha XD
oo2: applying for jobs at various places. i applied for a PA position at the Japanese embassy but something tells me they want somebody more... mature and well, actually graduated from university. ah well, doesn't hurt to try
oo3: Shinee has infected my dreams now. i keep having this recurring dream whereby I'M DATING ONEW WTFFFFFFFF AKLJHFGLKSJHGJKSG. i think this is my mind subconsciously knowing THEY ARE TOO YOUNG so i automatically go for the oldest and therefore least pedobear-worthy :||||||||||||||
and pictures of Taemin LIFTING HIS SHIRT UP doesn't help with the pedobear tendencies. put your shirt down and go back to being the ball of adorable sunlight everyone knows you are >.<
oo4: my dad is currently fanboying this Italian singer we saw on SBS one afternoon. this is the funniest picture i could have imagined: a middle-aged Chineseman rocking out to Italian pop-rock in the car ^^;;
|
|
|
[24 Sep 2008|04:32pm] |
so... my last post from good ol' higashikurume :(((((
about to leave the dorm to go to komaba for a soubetsukai with some kenkyuusei who are also leaving tomorrow. at least i won't be spending my last night by myself! \(^_^)
so i went to pay my insurance today and i'd estimated that it would be 18,000 yen (about $200 aussie, for reference) for the whole year. but nope, a lovely surprise. it ended up costing me 800 yen ($8 ish). which means i have an extra $200! yeah! XD
i think Crazy Lady will miss me. she was so helpful today and all genki but kind of crazy at the same time, like she usually is. oh Crazy Lady, i hope you like the new batch of students coming haha
my room feels really weird right now cause it's all clean and empty >.<
i left a surprise packet of spices in my cupboard for the next student who gets my room (they won't go off, don't worry). and a tupperware container, so considerate of me XDDDDDDD
okay, gotta find something to waste my time with before my friend comes to pick me up and help me with my luggage...
this will be my last post until i'm back in australia O___O
|
|
|
[18 Sep 2008|12:24pm] |
so i have one week until i leave tokyo to go home to australia. and i just cleaned my toilet for the room inspection. go figure =_=
the boy has been ignoring me for about a month and i've been getting more and more annoyed. doesn't help that whenever i try to call him, my phone gives me this weird message that i can't quite understand cause of the keigo. so not impressed... i think i'll try again and if he doesn't pick up, i'm gonna march over to his place (bit hard when i have to catch 3 trains to go there XD) and whack him over the head with my shoe >.<
room walls are all bare and so is my room, gradually...
these days are very boring, no one's here to talk to, unless i want to talk to Crazy Lady (the landlady who talks to the tv and while it's turned off, no less) haha
okay, back to rearranging my room back to the way it was. ugh, maybe i can call Shin and see if he can help me move stuff XD;;

don't mock me! this was the closest book, i swear! *ducks*
Deception Point - Dan Brown (shhh, i already said you couldn't mock me XD;;)
*ahem*
Forcing himself to relax his shoulders, he climbed into the passenger's seat with a cheery wave. The dark-haired gentleman in the driver's seat did not smile. The man was almost seventy years old, but his leathery complexion exuded a toughness appropriate to his post as figurehead of an army of brazen visionaries and ruthless entrepreneurs.
"Close the door," the man said, his voice callous.
Sexton obeyed, tolerating the man's gruffness graciously. After all, this man represented men who controlled enormous sums of money, much of which had been pooled recently to poise Sedgewick Sexton on the threshold of the most powerful office in the world. These meetings, Sexton had come to understand, were less strategy sessions than they were monthly reminders of just how beholden the senator had become to his benefactors.
trashy airport novels are my friends haha XD

oo3) there's some mystery show about Oda Nobunaga on tv now, and it's pretty interesting. i like it when they show something else besides *~wacky~* game shows here. i mean, they're all good and fun and stuff, but i want something of substance with my dinner *sounds like a wanky prat*

so in the process of cleaning/packing my room i have realised something. i hoard like a packrat, and this is not cool. it makes packing that much harder to do >.<
how did i even get this much stuff? it's not like i'm rolling on the cash mountain, so wtf? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND
been watching the hills online, and omg could speidi get any more ridiculous? i both love and hate them (SPENCER IS A CABBAGE PATCH DOLL AND BORDERLINE SOCIOPATH WHY DOES NO ONE ON THE SHOW REALISE THIS?) but after seeing this, i definitely err on the side of loving their ridiculous-ness
you cannot tell me that doesn't make you laugh uncontrollably! alkjfdkjag

| 富士山! |
[20 Aug 2008|07:26pm] |
i feel like my body has been run over by a very big truck. called Mt Fuji, in fact.
so, in short, i have officially climbed the highest mountain in Japan O_O like, really climbed. there were parts where you had to scale up the side of the mountain, in high winds and next to no light. bit scary and very tiring >.<
started at roughly 8 o'clock last night and even though i just missed seeing sunrise from the very top, i got to see it from just underneath the top. yes, the climb was that difficult. i ended up meeting two aussie boys also on their way up, and oh man, i miss aussies. they really are like no other country's people XD
note, not proof read for grammar errors, etc. i didn't sleep and still haven't gotten an appropriate amount of sleep seeing as i climbed up a mountain last night
i'm going to bed even though it's only 7:30 here...
